Betrayal at House on the Hill is a semi-cooperative board game of exploration, suspense, and sudden betrayal. Players take on the roles of curious adventurers exploring a creepy, ever-changing mansion. As the group explores, they draw random room tiles to build the house floor by floor, uncovering strange events, eerie items, and unsettling omens along the way.

At first, everyone works together to survive the mansion’s supernatural dangers. But at a certain point, the Haunt begins—triggered by an omen roll—and one player usually becomes the traitor, turning against the rest of the group. The game then shifts dramatically: the traitor gains secret goals and powers, while the remaining players, known as the heroes, must work together to survive or stop them.

With over 50 different possible haunts—ranging from ghostly possessions to murderous cults and alien invasions—no two games play out the same.
