In Ahoy, players take on the roles of rival factions vying for control of the high seas. Two players take on asymmetric factions with unique abilities and goals: The Bluefin Squadron (a military faction) aims to dominate through brute force and control. The Mollusk Union (a rebel faction) seeks to spread influence and win support among the ocean's regions.

Additional players act as Smugglers, independent operators who earn points by picking up and delivering cargo around the map.

It’s like playing different games on the same board, but all paths lead to trying to earn the most points.
